Police: 15-year-old Arrested After Fight Over a Pair of Sneakers
Central Nyack teen accused of going after his older brother with a knife.

A dispute over a pair of sneakers led to the arrest this morning of a 15-year-old Central Nyack boy on charges that he went after his 23-year-old brother with a knife, according to Clarkstown police.
Police were called to a Willow Drive home shortly after midnight this morning, where a family fight had broken out. Police said a 15-year-old was upset that his older brother had taken his sneakers without permission.
In the argument over the sneakers, police say the younger brother tried to light the older brother's jacket on fire. Police said the older brother picked up a shovel to defend himself and the argument then went inside their home, where their mother tried to break up he dispute.

Police said that while inside the home, the younger brother got a kitchen knife and went after his older brother. However, police said no one was injured in the incident.
The 15-year-old, who was not identified by police, was arrested on assault and menacing charges and was being held at Clarkstown police headquarters in New City this morning pending arraignment in Town Court.
