Public Hearings Set for Community Development Block Grants And Eminent Domain

The Clarkstown Town Board begins its Tuesday workshop at 7:30 p.m. followed by a regular board meeting that includes two public hearings.  The hearings are on the 2013 Community Development Block Grant Funds Program and acquisition through condemnation of a piece of property in West Nyack. 

The permanent easement sought by the town is for a 3,827 square foot piece of property at 160 North Route 303.  The town wants to use the property for its replacement of an outdated sewer pump station on another section of the parcel. 

During its regular meeting, the town board will vote on authorizing: 

• A pilot agreement with the County of Rockland Industrial Development Agency with The Retail Property Trust that is doing business as “The Shops at Nanuet.”
• An agreement for a program to control the Canadian Geese population
• An agreement with the county for reimbursement of police overtime incurred during the Maccabi Games.

Town board members will vote on accepting a proposal for engineering services for a comprehensive drainage study of the Hackensack River Basin in West Nyack and allowing the formation of the Wolfe Landing LLC Sewage-Works Corporation.

They will reappoint Edward J. Guardaro, Jr. as vice chairman of the town’s Zoning Board of Appeals.
