The Rockland Community College Foundation has gotten a $1,500 boost for its scholarship program from Orange and Rockland Utilities.
"O&R has been a long-time supporter and friend of the college," said Don Cairns, executive director of the foundation. "Each year, the Foundation oversees the awarding of $300,000 in scholarships and student financial support. This would not be possible without the support of the business community."
Since its inception in 1982, the foundation has awarded more than $2 million in scholarships to students for scholastic excellence and/or financial need. The foundation also assists and enhances the academic programs of RCC.
