Rockland Hosts Seminar on Medicare and Medicare Part D

Event designed to help senior citizens navigate available options.

With the enrollment period for Medicare Part D starting Nov. 15, the Rockland County Office for the Aging has decided to host an educational seminar on Medicare and Medicare Part D for local senior citizens.

The goal of the seminar is to inform Medicare recipients about the changes to Medicare in 2011, as well as create an understanding of the federal and state prescription drug programs, according to Rockland County officials.

The seminar is designed to help Medicare recipients evaluate the best options for them and provide information about extra help that is available to certain individuals to reduce or eliminate the Part D premium and lower cost-sharing requirements.
