Rockland Legislature To Hold Hearing On $7.8M Sewer District Upgrade

Among the other referrals from the finance committee are money for more license plate readers, resurfacing a playground and bus maintenance.

ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY — The Rockland County Legislature will kick off its first meeting in August Tuesday with a public hearing on a $7.8 million renovation and expansion project for Rockland County Sewer District No. 1.

The lawmakers will consider a resolution to authorize the issuance of $7,810,000 bonds

and any bond anticipation notes issued in anticipation of the sale.

The Budget and Finance Committee will also refer a $192,745 project to resurface the playground at Haverstraw Bay Park; $1.4 million for general construction at the county's Fire Training Site-Fire Operations Building.

The committee is also recommending approval of an additional $14.3 million for a $75 million contract with Transdev Services, Inc. to provide management, operations and maintenance for the county's public transportation fixed-route bus service through Oct. 31, 2024, with one 1-year renewal option remaining.

Plus it is recommending an additional $400,000 to the initial $2.7 million appropriation to buy and install additional license plate readers and the related licensing through May 31, 2025.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the Allison-Parris Office Building in New City.
