Second Man Accused of Attempted Murder in Stabbings

Four people were stabbed outside the Players Club in Nanuet in January. Police said another arrest is expected.

A second man has been charged with attempted murder in connection with the in Nanuet in January, according to Clarkstown police.

Police said Jason Jabouin, 24, of West Haverstraw was arrested on Wednesday by Haverstraw police after being spotted on Railroad Avenue in Haverstraw. Jabouin was charged with attempted murder, first-degree gang assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

Jabouin was arraigned in Clarkstown Town Court in New City and was ordered held in the Rockland County Correctional Center in New City pending a Town Court hearing.

He is accused in the ongoing investigation of an early-morning incident on Jan. 16 at the Players Club, a bar and pool hall on Route 59 in Nanuet. Four people who were stabbed were taken to local hospitals and all are recovering from their injuries, police said.

Last week, John Polanco, 24, of Clove Avenue, Haverstraw, was accused of being one of the attackers in the incident, police said. Polanco was arrested by Clarkstown police with assistance from Haverstraw police and he is accused of attempted murder, gang assault, first-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

Additionally, police said that when Polanco was arrested he was found with 10 bags of cocaine. That has led to an additional charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell. After arraignment, Polanco was ordered held in the Rockland County Correctional Facility in New City pending a Clarkstown Town Court hearing.

An additional arrest is expected in the investigation, police said.
