Security Camera Photos Show Gunman in Gas Station Robbery

Clarkstown police seek public's help in identifying suspect in armed robbery.

Clarkstown police are seeking the public's help in identifying that man who robbed a Route 59 gas station at gunpoint on Tuesday.

Photos from a security camera at the CITGO gas station at 158 Route 59 show the bandit inside the store at the gas station, carrying what looks like a silver handgun. The thief went to the store at about about 12:35 a.m. Tuesday and took about $800 cash and a box of Dutch Masters cigars after threatening the attendant.

Police said this is the third time this gas station has been robbed.

The suspect was described as approximately 5-foot-9 inches tall, with black hair, wearing a white t-shirt, gray shorts with a black bandana partially covering his face. The man was described as either white or Hispanic. Police note that the suspect has a tattoo on his right forearm.

Police ask that anyone with information on this incident contact the Clarkstown  Detective Bureau at 845-639-5840.
