Sign Of Progress

Details are sparse. However, it is now public that Italiana’s Restaurant and Bar will replace the former Pasta Cucina on Little Tor Road.  Interior and exterior construction work on the soon-to-be-open brick oven pizzeria has been in progress for several months.

Italiana’s is owned by Peter Mastorakos, who has two other restaurants across the border in New Jersey. He owns Roxanne’s Brick Oven Pizzeria Bar and Grill in Mahwah and co-owns Varka Estiatorio in Ramsey.

In July, George Georgiades, co-owner of Varka and executive chef for both NJ restaurants, said the dining atmosphere would be “very warm and family oriented.” He said there would be exposed bricks and beams and the menu would be similar to what is served at Roxanne’s. At that time, he said they hoped to open the new addition in mid September.
