Spring Valley Man Indicted in Restaurant Fight
Police officer was injured by glass from a shattered window.
A Spring Valley man has been indicted by a Rockland County grand jury in New City in connection with a fight at a Nyack restaurant, where a police officer was injured by glass from a window that was smashed by a liquor bottle.
Max Jules, 24, of 34 Headden Ave., Spring Valley, was indicted Monday on charges of second-degree assault, third-degree criminal mischef, second-degree reckless engdangerment and petty larceny, according to District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe.
Zugibe said Jules was involved in a Jan. 30 fight while in the Riviera Steakhouse, 19 Main St, Nyack, across the street from the Claremont condominiums. As staff members attempted to remove the Jules from the restaurant, Jules is accused of stealing a liquor bottle from behind the bar. Once outside the bar, Jules is accused of throwing the bottle through a glass window causing the window to shatter and hit numerouspeople.

A police officer suffered a corneal abrasion as a result of the glass, Zugibe said.
