Trades Union Group Backs Vanderhoef in state Senate Race

Building and Construction Trades Council of Westchester and Putnam Counties represents more than 35,000 union members.

Rockland County Executive C. Scott Vanderhoef said Wednesday that his race for state Senate has been endorsed by the Building and Construction Trades Council of Westchester and Putnam Counties, which represents more than 35,000 union members.  

Vanderhoef, a Republican, is running for the 38th Senate District seat that was held by the late state Sen. Thomas Morahan, R-New City. The seat represents  all of Rockland County and parts of southern Orange County.

Vanderhoef is running against Clarkstown Town Clerk David Carlucci, D-New City, for the state Senate seat in the Nov. 2 election.
