Vandals Heavily Damage School Security Vehicle at Clarkstown South H.S.
School officials: Police reviewing security video of Sunday incident.

Vandals heavily damaged a school security vehicle early Sunday morning at Clarkstown South High School in West Nyack, according to Clarkstown school officials.
Schools Superintendent Margaret Keller-Cogan said that around 2:30 a.m. Sunday three people are believed to have been involved with the vandalism, which included smashing windows and slashing tires on the security vehicle.
"The security vehicle was vandalized to the point of destruction," Keller-Cogan said. "The police have been called and we are examining the tapes from the security cameras."

Keller-Cogan said Tuesday that she was not yet certain if the individuals involved with the incident have been identified. The car was parked in the rear of the school.
Police said they are investigating the possibility that the incident may have been the result of rivalry between students at South High School and Clarkstown North High School in New City because of grafitti spray painted on the car, including "Rams 2011."

South sports teams are nicknamed Vikings, with North teams nicknamed Rams.
Police said vandals also apparently attempted to destroy a security camera that was in the area by hitting it with a stone. Police said the camera was moved, but not broken.
The vehicle was the lone car for security at the sprawling South campus. Keller-Cogan said the car was especially important at South to provide security along the long driveway entrance to South off Demarest Mill Road.
