Vietnam Veterans Raise $820 at Golden Gloves Event
Funds go toward community programs, helping U.S. troops.

Rockland's Vietnam veterans raised more than $800 to support their local programs as part of the recent Golden Gloves boxing tournament at the St. Lawrence Center in Hillburn.
Roy Tschudy, second vice president of Vietnam Veterans of American Chapter No. 333 said the $820 collected during the event will go toward helping the community and offering assitance to American troops.
Tschudy applauded Phil Tisi of the Town of Ramapo and Brian Adams, Golden Gloves manager for the Daily News, for helping the veterans chapter in its fundraising efforts as part of the boxing event.

More than 600 people attended the 11-bout event in January during the first week of the 84th annual edition of the New York Golden Gloves tournament. The championship finals are April 7-8 at the WAMU Theatre at Madison Square Garden.
