Volunteer Opportunities Of The Week: Annual Bronx River Blitz
Every week, Patch will spotlight volunteer opportunities in the Hudson Valley.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Each week, Patch will be highlighting volunteer opportunities in the Hudson Valley. This will be a chance to help your community and be an opportunity to give back — perhaps in a way you didn't consider before.

Join Westhab for a spook-tacular evening of fun and community service! Volunteers are needed to make Westhab's annual Trunk or Treat event a success by assisting with vehicle decoration, crowd control, cleanup, and distributing candy or prizes. The dress code is casual with an optional touch of Halloween spirit!

Mend By Me is transforming the Elks Lodge into "Elks Mansion," where kids will be guided through a haunted hall and given treats. Volunteers are needed to assist with each of the interactive, kid-friendly stations by playing several fun roles, such as the Butler, Grave Keeper, Witches, Mummy, Fairies, Candy Wheel Spinner, and Glow Room Ghosts. Volunteers are also needed to help with setup before and cleanup after the event. This is perfect for teens!

Join Westchester Parks Foundation for the largest cleanup of the year of the Bronx River Pathway! During the Bronx River Blitz, volunteers will check in, get supplies and instructions from their Volunteer Coordinators, and then stroll the pathway collecting litter at their own pace. All litter will be weighed to measure the total impact made! This event is rain or shine and perfect for kids, families, and large groups.
Date: 11/2 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

RiverArts is hosting its annual Open Studio Tour and it needs volunteers to oversee the welcome tables throughout the rivertowns. Volunteers can express interest in one or more two-hour shifts.
