Volunteer Opportunities Of The Week: Science Fair Judges

Every week, Patch will spotlight volunteer opportunities in the Hudson Valley.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Each week, Patch will be highlighting volunteer opportunities in the Hudson Valley. This will be a chance to help your community and be an opportunity to give back — perhaps in a way you didn't consider before.

This week, we are putting the spotlight on some opportunities in the Hudson Valley.

Science Fair Judges
The Westchester Science and Engineering Fair encourages students to participate in hands-on science and showcases the research of high school students in Westchester and Putnam Counties. It is the largest regional high school science fair in the United States. Qualified volunteers are needed to serve as judges for the science fair. This is an ideal role for medical and mental health professionals, scientists, engineers, and graduate students. Volunteers must be 22+ and meet the listed qualifications.
Date: 3/15 from 8:30 a.m.- 3 p.m.

Board Members
Family Ties is dedicated to strengthening families affected by trauma, unmet behavioral health needs, and other complex systemic challenges. It believes that, with access to the right tools and resources, every family is able to thrive. It is currently seeking dedicated individuals to join its Board of Directors. Experience in human resources, development and fundraising, legal services, website design, or communications and marketing is a plus!
Date: Bimonthly; meetings are typically last Mondays from 7-8:30 p.m.

The New Rochelle Campership Fund Inc. is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization that serves the children of New Rochelle in need. For over 67 years, it has provided thousands of children with camping experiences that their families could not otherwise afford. It is seeking dedicated individuals to join its Board of Directors as well as serve as a liaison to partner camps.

Volunteer Coordinator
Sleep in Heavenly Peace is dedicated to building, assembling, and delivering top-notch bunk beds to children and families in need. A Volunteer Coordinator is needed to help recruit and communicate with volunteers (using email, text, and phone calls), coordinate assignments, create volunteer events, and attend build day events.
