Woman Accused of Trying to Pass Forged Check
She's arrested as she leaves Chase Bank branch.
A 22-year-old woman is accused of trying to cash a forged checked at a local Chase Bank branch, according to Clarkstown police.
Police said Chantel Legions of Brooklyn went to the Chase atc, at about 2 p.m. Tuesday, when she presented a check that was made out to a business. Police said the bank's staff checked with that business and was alerted that Legions was not connected with them.
Chase staff contacted police and Legions was arrested as she was leaving the bank. She is charged with forgery, possession of a forged instrument and grand larceny, all felonies. Legions was arraigned in Clarkstown Town Court in New City and ordered held in the Rockland County Correctional Center in New City on $1,000 bail.

Legions is to appear in Town Court again today.
