3 Teens Robbed Nassau Gas Station At Gunpoint, Attacked Clerk: Police
Police say two of the teens fled, and one has yet to be arrested

NASSAU COUNTY, NY — Two teens were arrested early Monday morning after Nassau County police say they robbed a gas station at gunpoint.
According to police, three teens entered the Shell station at 650 Hillside Ave. in North New Hyde Park at 5:05 a.m. Monday. They tried to get into the register area, which was behind plexiglass. Police say they pulled down the plexiglass barrier, and the clerk there called police, which made the teens flee.
At 5:30 a.m., the same group entered the BP station at 1 Plandome Road in Manhasset, police said. According to police, they approached a 48-year-old man who was working there and threatened him with a gun, hit him in the face and punched him in the stomach. The three then fled in a 2006 Honda Civic with cash and belongings from the man.

Officers responded to the scene and found the car, police said. Two of the teens fled on foot, and one 16-year-old boy was arrested without incident. Police later arrested Rahquan Brooks, 18, of the Bronx, after a chase. One of the teens got away.
Police say the Honda Civic was a stolen.

Brooks and the 16-year-old are both charged with first- and second-degree robbery, second-degree attempted robbery, third-degree attempted burglary and third-degree criminal possession of stolen property. They are scheduled to be arraigned later today in First District Court in Hempstead.
Police say Brooks was arrested in Yonkers on Aug. 25 and charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree assault, third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, second-degree criminal mischief and unlawful fleeing of a police officer. He was released without bail on Aug. 26.
