3 Women Killed In DWI Crash On Long Island: Police
Three women were killed in a crash on Saturday, and police said a 22-year-old man has been charged with drunken driving.
NEW HYDE PARK, NY — A crash killed three women on Saturday in New Hyde Park, and police said a man has been charged with drunken driving and vehicular manslaughter.
The crash happened outside a catering hall on Jericho Turnpike, called The Inn at New Hyde Park, around 11:11 p.m. A worker at the catering hall told ABC7 that the women were leaving a Sweet 16 party.
"Very disturbing, never seen that ever in my life," witness Jaylen Augustin told the news outlet. "I just hope — why would that happen, I just can't believe it."

Nassau County police said Dante Lennon, 22, of Freeport, who was driving a Mercedes Benz sedan, struck a Lincoln Town Car in the eastbound lane in front of 214 Jericho Turnpike. A driver and five passengers were in the Lincoln Town Car.
Three rear female passengers were pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The driver and remaining passengers were taken to local hospitals for treatment and are in stable condition.

Lennon, who was driving alone, was charged with three counts of vehicular manslaughter, vehicular assault, and driving while intoxicated. Police said he was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries and will appear before a judge as soon as medically able.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
