Cohen Children’s Medical Center Ranks #1 Top Pediatric Hospital In New York

NEW HYDE PARK, NY – Northwell Cohen Children’s Medical Center tied for best children’s hospital in New York, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2025-26 Best Children’s Hospitals. It tied for the No. 1 spot with New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia and Cornell.

Cohen Children’s has been ranked among the nation’s top pediatric hospitals for the past 18 years by U.S. News. It also tied for the No. 4 place in the mid-Atlantic region, according to U.S. News.

The medical center received 50 national rankings from U.S. News for exceptional care in 10 pediatric subspecialties.

• Pediatric Cancer – ranked 23rd in the nation
• Pediatric Pulmonology and Lung Surgery – ranked 23rd in the nation
• Pediatric Neurology and Neurosurgery – ranked 24th in the nation
• Pediatric Orthopedics – ranked 27th in the nation
• Pediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology – ranked 29th in the nation
• Pediatric Gastroenterology and GI Surgery – tied for 44th in the nation
• Pediatric and Adolescent Behavioral Health – ranked in the top 50

For the 2025-2026 rankings, U.S. News, together with RTI International, a North Carolina-based research firm, collected and analyzed data from 118 children’s hospitals and surveyed thousands of pediatric specialists. Children’s hospitals awarded a “Best” designation excelled at factors such as clinical outcomes, compliance with established best practices, and level and quality of hospital resources directly related to patient care.
