Duo Stole Elderly Woman's Purse In New Hyde Park: Police
The woman was loading her groceries into her car when the theft occurred, police say.

A man and a woman were arrested for stealing a purse from an elderly woman's shopping cart in New Hyde Park on Thursday, police say.
According to authorities, the 76-year-old woman was loading her vehicle after shopping at ShopRite, located at 2335 New Hyde Park Road, when she was approached by a man, later identified as 32-year-old Plainview resident Bradley Pearl, who took her purse from the shopping cart at 3:30 p.m.
Police responded and located a man fitting the description of the thief in the front passenger seat of a black Lexus. Police conducted a traffic stop and an investigation, which led to the arrest of Pearl and 34-year-old Williston Park resident Jillian Anselmo, who was driving the Lexus, police say.

Both Pearl and Anselmo were charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and will be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
