Girl, 10, Hit By Car While Riding Bike To Ice Cream Truck
The little girl was hit while biking to an ice cream truck on Long Island, police say.
NEW HYDE PARK, NY — A 10-year-old girl was hit by a car while riding her bicycle in New Hyde Park Wednesday night, according to authorities.
The incident happened shortly before 6 p.m. as the girl was biking to an ice cream truck at the intersection of N. 11th Street and Park Avenue.
Nassau County police say a 2020 Hyundai Elantra traveling northbound on N. 11 Street struck the little girl. The driver, only identified as a 20-year-old woman, remained at the scene.

The girl was taken to North Shore LIJ Cohen Children's Hospital for her injuries, police said. No other injuries were reported.
The investigation is ongoing.
