'Howl-O-Ween' Event Invites Dogs, Owners To Pet-Friendly Park Event

There will be a best pet costume contest at the dog-friendly Halloween event at Michael J. Tully park in New Hyde Park later this month.

NEW HYDE PARK, NY—Halloween is going to the dogs later this month in New Hyde Park, with the Town Of North Hempstead's pet-friendly event "Howl-O-Ween" slated for Saturday, October 22. Residents are invited to bring their pooches in costume for a costume contest and event-filled day at Michael J. Tully Dog Park.

The event kicks off at 11 a.m. and runs until 2 p.m. In addition to prizes for best pet costume and best pet-and-owner duo costume, there will be music, crafts and giveaways.

The town asks pet owners to leash their dogs at the park. No prior registration is necessary.
