Motorcyclist Killed In New Hyde Park Crash: Police
Authorities have identified the man killed in a motorcycle crash Friday in New Hyde Park.
NEW HYDE PARK, NY — A man riding his motorcycle died Friday evening after he collided with a vehicle in New Hyde Park.
Nassau County police have identified the man who died as Heriberto Ramirez Ortiz, 41 of New Hyde Park.
The crash happened around 11:05 p.m. on New Hyde Park Road. Authorities say Ramirez Ortiz was traveling southbound on New Hyde Park Road when his Yamaha motorcycle collided with a Toyota RAV4. The driver of the Toyota — only identified as an 18-year-old man — was heading northbound on that same road, but was trying to make a left turn at the time of the crash.

Ramirez Ortiz was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. The driver of the Toyota did not report any injuries.
A police investigation is underway. No other information has been released as of Monday morning.
