New Hyde Park 16U Bluedevils Open 2013 Fall Season with Win
Bluedevils rally to down Hawks 6-2 in first game.

The New Hyde Park 16U Bluedevils defeated the NY Hawks in the fall season opener by the score of 6-2 this past Saturday. Kyle Cajigas pitched 6 strong innings for the Bluedevils, striking out 10 and giving up only 2 runs. Doug Obidienzo pitched the final three frames fanning five and allowing only 2 hits to maintain the 6-2 victory.
The Bluedevils trailed 2 to 0 going into the bottom of the sixth inning when they rallied for three runs to take a 3-2 lead. Raymond Close led the rally with a walk and Greg LaFroscia reached on an error to put runners on the corners. Joe Elkashash walked to load the bases, then Doug Obidienzo, Nick Pellegrino and Vincent Balletta followed with three consecutive RBI walks to push the lead to 3 to 2.

In the seventh the Bluedevils added some insurance, John Hayes walked, Cajigas doubled in Hayes, Brandon LaFroscia walked, Mike Thornton singled home Cajigas, Close reached on a fielders choice driving in B. LaFroscia, after a fly out by Eric Mihok, Greg LaFroscia delivered an RBI single to cap the scoring and extended the Bluedevils lead to 6-2. Kyle Cajigas had two hits & RBI as well as Mike Thornton for the Bluedevils.
The defense was led by Niko Rullo in center & Dylan Savarese at second base (3 assists and a putout).
