Northwell Worker Fatally Shot In Parking Lot Has Been Identified

NEW HYDE PARK, NY — Authorities have identified the Northwell Health employee who was fatally shot Thursday afternoon in New Hyde Park.

Nassau County police say Amelia Laguerre, 33, of Queens, was shot multiple times in a publicly-accessible parking garage at 1999 Marcus Ave., which is owned by Northwell, around 4:10 p.m.

According to authorities and Northwell, several team members rendered aid to the victim. She was then rushed to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The investigation is ongoing.
