The U.S. Geological Survey has confirmed that the rumble you just felt was an aftershock from this weekend's 3.0 magnitude earthquake.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — That rumble you just felt was an aftershock from this weekend's earthquake, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The 2.7 magnitude earthquake was confirmed with an origin roughly 2 kilometers southwest of Hillsdale, New Jersey. The earthquake was recorded at 12:11 p.m.
There have been no reports of damage or injuries so far.

The Tuesday afternoon earthquake was felt across Westchester, Rockland, Putnam counties, and as far away as parts of Connecticut.

Today's earthquake was not quite as strong as the 3.0 magnitude earthquake felt here on Saturday. The weekend earthquake centered at Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey at 10:18 p.m. on Saturday, about 14 miles from Hastings-on-Hudson, was also felt by many throughout the Hudson Valley.
