Today's opportunity is for friendly visitors for older adults with DOROT Westchester.
DOROT Westchester's Friendly Visiting program is a great way to make new social connections at any stage of life. During friendly visits, older adults and volunteers enjoy weekly or monthly visits together in the older adult's home. This is an opportunity to share interests and experiences, make new memories, and develop a mutually rewarding, genuine, and life-enhancing friendship.

Volunteers commit to visit their new friend for one hour—either weekly or monthly—for at least one year. Monthly matches are asked to also have one meaningful phone conversation between visits. A DOROT Westchester social worker will help find a compatible match and support both the volunteer and older adult for the duration of their relationship.
Volunteer requirements:
- Must be 18+
- Must complete an orientation and background check, as well as provide references
- Must have valid government-issued ID
- Must commit to one year to building a relationship with an older adult
