8-On-8 Coed Soccer League Gains A Solid Foothold In New Rochelle

Mayor Noam Bramson will kick off the opening ceremonies as the adult recreational sports league from Animeca Sports takes the field.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Through its partnerships with civic organizations and business groups, New Rochelle has managed to bring an oversized share of arts and entertainment events to town. Now, a collaboration with a newly formed co-ed sports league is upping the game, so to speak.

Animeca Sports said its collaboration with the city has led to opening day of their inaugural adult co-ed sports league season. Matches will take place on Wednesdays from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. at City Park in New Rochelle, beginning this week.

Mayor Noam Bramson will be at the opening ceremony on Skidelsky Field at City Park at 7:45 p.m. to show support and help kick off New Rochelle’s newest community organization. Although registration has closed for the upcoming season, more league play and more sports are planned for the near future.

With massive expansion currently happening in New Rochelle, Animeca Sports aims to provide new and old residents of New Rochelle new opportunities to engage with their communities while utilizing the space New Rochelle has to offer for its residents in a fun and friendly environment, organizers of the brand-new recreational league said.
