Authorities Searching For Woman In Scrubs Suspected Of Abandoning Dog

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The Humane Law Enforcement (HLE) Unit of SPCA Westchester has released surveillance footage that appears to show a woman in scrubs abandoning a dog in a New Rochelle neighborhood.

The Humane Society of Westchester at New Rochelle posted on social media on Monday that the SPCA is asking the public to assist in identifying a woman who is believed to have abandoned a dog in the middle of a residential street.

The disturbing incident, which can be viewed in the surveillance video below, took place on Lotus Road in New Rochelle, on June 11, around noon. The woman wearing blue scrubs can be seen appearing to take the dog out of her car and leaving it on the road before driving away.

The Humane Society said that the Labrador is now safe with the person who found it.

It is believed that the woman is local to the area and it was noted that she was wearing scrubs on a Tuesday afternoon.
