Black Ice Possible Across Hudson Valley: National Weather Service

A special weather statement and a hazardous weather outlook have been issued for much of the Hudson Valley.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The National Weather Service has issued both a hazardous weather outlook and a special weather statement for Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. The Hudson Valley counties affected are: Westchester, Putnam, Rockland and Orange.

The weather service wrote that temperatures will be falling to below freezing early Tuesday evening, and stay below freezing into late Wednesday morning.

The residual moisture from light precipitation on Tuesday, along with light winds, will lead to the formation of patches of black ice on untreated roads and sidewalks, the NWS said.
