Body Found In Creek Is ID'd As 58-Year-Old Saugerties Man

Nearby residents saw the body in the Plattekill Creek and contacted first responders, who recovered the body.

ULSTER COUNTY, NY — Authorities have identified the body found in a Hudson Valley creek this week.

On May 11, at 12:14 p.m., troopers out of State Police Kingston responded to a report of a person found in the Plattekill Creek, near Park Circle in the town of Saugerties.

Investigators said nearby residents saw a body in the Plattekill Creek and contacted first responders. The Mount Marion Fire Department retrieved the body from the water.

The victim was later identified as 58-year-old Stanley Christopher Waldron, of Saugerties, who was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no signs of foul play, according to New York State Police.

The New York State Police were assisted at the scene by the Mount Marion Fire Department and Diaz Memorial Ambulance Services.
