Coastal Flood Advisory Issued For Southern Westchester
A tropical storm is headed up the east coast and will affect the Hudson Valley Saturday.
SOUTHERN WESTCHESTER, NY — The tropical storm that is working its way up the east coast will bring windy and soaking rains to much of the Hudson Valley.
Hazardous outlooks have already been issued for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties.
Now, the National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood advisory for southern Westchester County.

It is in effect from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.
Up to 1-1/2 feet of inundation above ground level can be expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline.

Minor flooding is expected.
The inundation will cause shallow flooding on some roads and low-lying properties including parking lots, parks, lawns and homes and businesses with basements near the waterfront.
Additional rounds of localized minor coastal flooding are possible Sunday into early next week, particularly during the afternoon high tide.
