Emergency Overnight Closure Of North Ave. Bridge In New Rochelle
The closure of the bridge over I-95 from Friday night to Saturday morning is necessary for emergency water main repairs.
NEW ROCHELLE, NY — It looks like rotten weather won't be the only travel issue this weekend on the Sound Shore.
The City of New Rochelle announced Friday afternoon that due to emergency water main repairs, the North Ave. Bridge will be closed overnight, from 9 p.m. on Friday through 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Officials say that the posssibility remains for extending the work another day, from 9 p.m. on Saturday through 9 a.m. on Sunday.

Southbound traffic on North Ave. will be detoured at Lockwood Ave.
Northbound traffic will be diverted to Garden St., and Garden St. westbound traffic will have to make a mandatory left turn.

The city asks that drivers observe all posted detours and exercise caution while traveling through the area.
