Encore, Encore: 2 Shows Added To Free Kids Concert Series At New Roc

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The popularity of a summer concert series created with kids in mind has led organizers to extend the season.

The New Roc Kids’ Summerfest '23 has added two additional dates: Saturday, September 9 and Friday, September 15. The series, the first one of its kind hosted by New Roc, features a lineup of vibrant and engaging outdoor performances, showcasing inclusive, accessible, and culturally diverse entertainment developed primarily for families with children aged 6 to 12.

The performances are a fusion of music, interactive experiences, and educational elements with the goal of being engaging, stimulating, and, most importantly, fun for the young audience. Organizers say parents and adults will enjoy the entertainment as well, ensuring a delightful experience for the entire family.

The events are held at the outdoor courtyard space located at 33 LeCount Place, in New Rochelle, with room for up to 200 attendees.

Cushman & Wakefield, managing agent at New Roc, has partnered with the New Roc tenants, including Regal Cinema, Applebee's, Buffalo Wild Wings, Sky Zone Trampoline Park, Pinkberry, Planet Fitness, Banana's Axe Cabana, Monroe College, and Audi to put on one of the only music series of its kind in the area. New Rochelle Parks and Recreation Department has also provided support and partial funding has been provided by the City of New Rochelle.

The command performances are coming up soon.

• On Saturday, September 9, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Zev Haber and his band are set to deliver a lively performance featuring beloved children’s music.
• On Friday, September 15, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., The Larry Siegel Ensemble will showcase a mix of popular songs and their original compositions.

In addition to the musical festivities, early attendees can get complimentary T-shirts, while supplies last. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs.

As a bonus, Applebee’s is offering up to two free kids' meals with the purchase of an adult entrée, making dinner and a show a family affair.
