Free Screenings During Breast Cancer Awareness Month In New Rochelle

No documentation or insurance will be required. Registration is recommended due to a limited number of walk-in appointments available.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Even if you are uninsured, underinsured or undocumented, you can still get a free breast screening for prevention and early detection.

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the City of New Rochelle announced that Montefiore New Rochelle will be providing free breast screenings this month for uninsured, underinsured and undocumented women. The breast screening events will take place on Saturday, October 8 and Saturday, October 22, from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m., at the Montefiore New Rochelle Breast Center located at 23 Washington Ave., Building #31.

The Montefiore New Rochelle Breast Center says it is proud to open its doors to everyone in need of an examination, regardless of insurance or documentation status.

Breast exams can be done for women 18 years of age and older. Mammograms can be performed for women 40 years of age and older.

Co-pays will apply only to those with insurance. The free exams are for all uninsured, underinsured and undocumented women.

Registration is recommended. A limited number of walk-in appointments will be available. To register, call 914-365-4618, Monday-Friday, from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Free gifts bags will be distributed, along with women's health education and information.
