But you'd better hurry because last year’s program was a sold-out success as the yacht club added a regatta-winning Big Boat Team while preparing younger junior sailors to enjoy the same keel boat opportunities.
Organizers say their youngest sailors will find an environment for making fast friends and enjoying on-shore and off-shore games while refueling with provided picnic lunches and supervised free swim each afternoon in the club’s pool.
Many of the program's graduates are offered opportunities to participate, with coach support, in regattas all over the Long Island Sound. This year, the program will add the opportunity to sail the C420 as a new offering to existing boat classes – Optis, RSFevas, and Lasers.
The open house is intended to introduce the program to new sailors and their parents. The community is invited to stop by to see the program boats, learn about the program from parents of recent grads, and visit the Huguenot Yacht Club facilities.
