Icy Morning Commute Prompts NWS Special Weather Statement
Drivers are being advised to use extra caution if traveling this morning throughout much of the Hudson Valley.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The snow has stopped, but for much of the Hudson Valley, icy roads remain a concern.
The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement for much of the Hudson Valley, including Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Westchester and New York City, warning that icy conditions are possible this morning.
"With temperatures having fallen into the teens and 20s overnight, any residual moisture from yesterday's snowfall may have froze and created icy conditions, primarily on untreated and sheltered surfaces," according to the NWS.
