Iona Prep Hockey's Stanley Cup Dreams Come True For An Afternoon
NHL champion defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk's Stanley Cup tour of his hometown had one stop that was more special than all the others.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — When NHL Hockey Defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk returned home to New Rochelle with the 2020 Stanley Cup Trophy on Saturday, he made a special point to visit the Iona Preparatory Lower School.
This was one stop he wasn't going to miss. In addition to attending classes there as a child, Shattenkirk has another close connection with the school. His mother Barbara Shattenkirk is a longtime teacher at Iona Prep. She accompanied her son on the victory tour of his alma mater.
Starstruck members of the Iona Prep hockey program were there to welcome the school's famous graduate. Very few hockey players and coaches will ever be able to pose with the NHL Championship Stanley Cup. However, members of the Iona prep hockey program are now part of this elite club.
