Kids & Kindness Will Be Celebrated At The New Rochelle Public Library
Saturday's event will feature Rina & Risa Horiuchi, creators of "K is For Kindness," singer Flor Bromley, and the famous Frog & Toad.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — This rainy weekend's festivities at the New Rochelle Public Library will be brought to you by the letter "K."
The New Rochelle Public Library announced that it is celebrating both Children’s Book Week (November 7 - 13) and World Kindness Day (November 13) with a special event, "Kids' Books & Kindness: A Celebration" on Saturday, from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.
"We are always looking for fun ways to promote children's literacy," Head of Children's Services Robert Simic said. "Children's Book Week is the annual celebration of books for young people and the joy of reading, and World Kindness Day focuses on the positive power and the common thread of kindness, so having a children's author/illustrator team who crafted a book about kindness was the perfect fit for the day. We've planned a really fun afternoon of friends, fun and fabulous books, and look forward to seeing everyone, in costume, at the library on Saturday."

The program will feature a visit with debut author/illustrator and sister duo Rina and Risa Horiuchi, who created "K is For Kindness," an ABC book that expresses how kindness can be found anywhere. In addition, bilingual singer/songwriter Flor Bromley will bring her unique brand of musical entertainment to the celebration, and classic storybook buddies, Frog and Toad will be on hand to meet and greet children and caregivers.
Children (and adults) are encouraged to come to the event dressed as their favorite storybook character.
