'Kidz Kayaking' From L.L. Bean And New Rochelle Back For 2024

Options for pint-sized kayakers at Five Islands Park will include Tuesday or Thursday sessions, from June 27 - August 8.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The water is one of the Hudson Valley's greatest assets, and L.L. Bean and and New Rochelle's Department of Parks & Recreation are once again helping to make sure the next generation has a chance to enjoy those assets to the fullest.

New Rochelle's Department of Parks & Recreation announced that it is again partnering with L.L. Bean to offer a six-week kayaking program at Five Islands Park for New Rochelle children ages 9-14.

Organizers say that instruction, on-water supervision and support will be provided by certified and experienced staff from L.L. Bean and the Department of Parks & Recreation.

Families will have the option of choosing Tuesday or Thursday sessions, from June 27 - August 8. All sessions will be held from 4:15 p.m. - 5:45 p.m. Weather makeup dates will be scheduled based on L.L. Bean availability.

The 6-week program will cost $180/person.
