Larchmont Newcomers’ Club Seeks New Members

Residents are invited to The Larchmont Newcomers Club's kick-off family picnic on Sept. 8th to meet new friends over coffee and bagels, and see what the the club is all about. The club has served Larchmont, Mamaroneck and New Rochelle since 1950.

The Larchmont Newcomers’ Club (LNC) announced that it will kick off the new year by welcoming new members for its 2013-2014 season at a picnic on Sunday, Sept. 8th.

The picnic, the first event of the season, will take place at 10:00 a.m. at Flint Park in Larchmont. The picnic is a great opportunity to meet new friends over coffee and bagels and see what The Larchmont Newcomers’ Club has to offer, while enjoying live entertainment provided by Applause Westchester. Admission is $8 per person. Children under 2 are free.

The Sept. 8th picnic will also include a Back to School Drive. Donations of small back packs and school supplies will be graciously accepted and distributed to local programs that serve low-income families. Cash donations are also welcome in person or online.

To enroll, or learn more, please visit www.larchmontnewcomersclub.com. A modest membership fee, which supports the operating costs of the LNC, is required to participate in all activities.

The Larchmont Newcomers’ Club is a social organization that has welcomed new residents to Larchmont, Mamaroneck and New Rochelle for over 50 years.

The Club currently has a membership of more than 220 families and offers special events, group activities and resources for those who are new to the area. 

Serving Larchmont, Mamaroneck, and New Rochelle, LNC offers a wide variety of social activities for men, women, children and families and is a great way to meet other area residents in a relaxed, social atmosphere. A non-profit organization, the LNC also devotes a significant amount of time to charity throughout the year.

Members are invited to approximately 20 social events per year. The LNC also organizes dozens of special interest groups including fiction and non-fiction book clubs, poker and mah jongg groups, and play groups for families with young children. All residents are welcome to join, whether they are new to the area or would just like to become more involved in their community.

LNC also takes pride in giving back to the Sound Shore community by working with local charities and offering numerous community outreach initiatives including the annual back to school drive and holiday toy drive.
