Let Your Kids Join The Circus (Skills Workshop) In New Rochelle

Think your kids would enjoy learning how to walk on stilts or how to juggle? Big Top dreams can come true with a little help from pros.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — If your kids have dreams of running away to join the circus, the least you as a parent can do is lay a foundation that will give them a chance to be a star of the Big Top or at least impress their friends at recess.

The New Rochelle Parks and Recreation Department announced that they will be holding their first Kids Circus Skills Workshop by the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus on Thursday, September 22, from 4:30 p.m. -6 p.m.

The free, afterschool event is geared towards children ages 7-12. Participants will be able to explore circus skills like wire walking, stilts, juggling and prop manipulation. Activities will be set up as stations giving everyone a chance to try all the offerings. Kids should wear sneakers and comfortable clothing to allow for free movement.

Circus-appropriate refreshments will be available.

Capacity is limited to the first 70 children. There is a maximum of 2 tickets per family. Registration can be done here.

The Circus Skills Workshop will take place in the New Roc Outdoor Courtyard. In case of rain, the event will be moved indoors.

This event is sponsored by the New Rochelle Parks & Recreation Department and Monroe College. Participating tenants also include: Regal Cinema, Pinkberry, Applebee's, Buffalo Wild Wings, Planet Fitness, Audi New Rochelle, Skyzone, Gamestop and Residence Inn Marriott.
