This May Not Be Your First Rodeo, But It's The City's First Bike Rodeo

What better way is there to get ready for summer than celebrating life on two wheels and making sure the family is ready for safe rides?

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The city of New Rochelle is kicking off a summer of fun on two wheels this spring.

The city's First Bike Rodeo is set for May 18, from noon to 2 p.m. Cyclists ages 5-18 will meet at New Rochelle City Hall, then ride over to Flowers City Park with the NRPD, and that's just the start of the fun, including a helmet fitting station and games, a helmet decorating station, food trucks, music and raffles.

"Our newly created 'Bike Rodeo' is a wonderful collaboration between the Department of Parks & Recreation, our Youth Bureau, and our Police Department's Police & Community Together Unit (P.A.C.T.)," Parks & Recreation Commissioner Vin Parise said. "It is a new, fun, and engaging way for us to promote bicycle safety, and highlight our Police Department's youth engagement, while also encouraging children to enjoy Flowers City Park uniquely. We are beyond grateful and appeciative to Montefiore New Rochelle for being to sole sponsor of this event."
