Mayor Bramson Might Just Have A New Hobby After He Leaves Office

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Despite professing to never having held a golf club before, New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bramson was on hand at a recent free golf clinic held at PXG.

Lucky for the mayor, who will leave office at the end of the year, the storied golf store prides itself on getting both novices and longtime players in game shape. In this case, however, Bramson stopped by to welcome PXG to New Rochelle and also visit with the clinic participants, according to PXG.

"We started hosting these to support area golfers during the off season," PGA Pro and PXG Fitting Team Leader Brandon Violette said. "Our guests basically receive one-on-one attention during the evenings and can improve their game despite not being able to get out on the course during the colder months."

PXG was founded by entrepreneur and self-proclaimed golf nut Bob Parsons. The company opened the retail store in New Rochelle at Nardozzi Place in January. The location is one of the largest of the 22 PXG stores nationwide at 7500 square feet and includes four bays equipped with state-of-the-art technology to analyze golf swings as well as two putting areas.

But you don't have to be a golf fanatic to get excited about the year-round golf Mecca.

PXG is the place for holiday gifts for golfers, including stocking stuffers under $100. An in-person club fitting is a gift that will keep on giving long after the snow melts.

Although Mayor Bramson is retiring from New Rochelle City Hall, he is still a few years away from retiring to the golf course, but the pros at PXG say they'll be there for him when he's ready for greener fairways.

PXG is hosting free golf clinics through the end of January on Thursday evenings. The clinics are open to golfers at any level and participants are welcome to bring their own clubs or use PXG clubs. Registration is required and can be completed here.
