Naked Man Found Walking On Empire State Trail Is Arrested For Public Lewdness: Police

The Putnam County Sheriff's deputies were conducting nighttime patrols of the Putnam County Trailway when they spotted something odd.

CARMEL, NY — A Brewster man has been arrested for public lewdness on a Hudson Valley bike path, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.

Acting Sheriff Brian Hess announced the arrest of 27-year-old Dennis O. Cantoral Lopez, after the strange incident took place on the Putnam County Trailway, in the Town of Carmel.

On Monday, Putnam County Sheriff's Office deputies were conducting nighttime patrols of the Putnam County Trailway and Bike Path when they spotted something unusual. Around 11 p.m., in the area behind the Putnam Plaza, deputies saw a man, later identified as Cantoral Lopze, walking along the bike path fully nude, officials said.

Deputies took Cantoral Lopez into custody. He was charged with public lewdness and trespass.

Cantoral Lopez was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Carmel Court.
