Daiso's merchandise has an international reputation of high quality with a competitive pricing strategy. Daiso designs and manufactures many of their products themselves. Stores typically carry $1.75 products spanning holiday decor, party favors, storage solutions, kitchenware, beauty supplies, stationery, gift wrap, greeting cards, pet supplies, gardening items, electronics, snacks, toys and school/craft supplies. While the majority of items are priced at $1.75, some items may sell for slightly more. The company says that there is something new to find with every visit.

Daiso products are also famous, in part, due to being the subject of social media "haul" videos for everything from cosmetics application to craft, slime and baking videos. Daiso store grand openings are known to draw lines that snake around the building.

After opening its first U.S. store in Seattle back in 2005, the company has rapidly expanded across the country. Other New York Daiso locations include: Scarsdale, Flushing, Rego Park, Manhattan and Brooklyn.

"New York based Daiso customers have shown us through our online business and social media their desire for us to have more stores within the state, influencing our immediate growth strategy in this region," John Clarke, Chief Development Officer for Daiso USA, said. "We currently operate 105 units in 7 states with more states opening in 2024."

On both Saturday, Oct. 7 and Sunday, Oct. 8, the first 100 customers to shop at the Rye Ridge Shopping Center and Shoprite Plaza location, spending a minimum of $30 will receive an exclusive tote bag and plushie. Daiso says that these special offerings are their way of expressing gratitude to their loyal customers and welcoming new shoppers to the Daiso community.

Daiso invites customers to join in the celebration. Both the Rye Ridge Shopping Center and Shoprite Plaza Daiso locations will be open daily from 10 a.m to 8 p.m.
