New Rochelle Huguenots Headed To State Championship Game

An area business owner presented the team with personalized track suits to mark the accomplishment.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — On Saturday, Nov. 24, the New Rochelle High School football team will be heading to the Carrier Dome at Syracuse University for the state football championship. On Nov. 17, the Huguenots came from behind after halftime to defeat Shaker High School 27-19.

This will be the first time since 2012 that NRHS will compete in the state championship. They will be play Aquinas Institute from Rochester at 3 p.m. in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class AA final.

To mark the accomplishment, Michael Coughlin, a senior parent and local business owner of Coughlin Insurance, presented the team Thanksgiving morning with personalized UA track suits for their trip to the championship game.
