HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The MTA is once again cracking down on alcohol on Metro-North trains and in Hudson Valley stations during SantaCon weekend, Dec. 14 and 15.

The ban will be enforced for 32 hours, from 4 a.m. on Saturday morning until noon on Sunday, in an attempt to quell any rowdy and disorderly behavior during the annual holiday revelry. The MTA announced that those caught with alcohol on Metro-North are subject to having it confiscated, receiving summonses, and even being ejected from the train or station.

"Our top priority is ensuring that Metro-North and Long Island Rail Road riders can celebrate safely," said MTA Police Chief John Mueller. "The holiday season is a wonderful time of year, and we want everyone to get to their destination smoothly and on time while enjoying the festivities."
