'Our Children, Our Artists': 40th Annual Student Exhibit Now Open

The artwork of students from New Rochelle's seven public elementary schools is already drawing crowds at the Lumen Winter Gallery.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Spring is of the best times of year in the Queen City on the Sound, as parks come alive and outdoor gathering fill the calendar, but you will need to venture indoors one of the most popular decades old traditions of the year.

The New Rochelle Public Library is currently displaying the 40th annual "Our Children, Our Artists" exhibit in the Lumen Winter Gallery of the library through June 1.

The artwork of students in the City School District of New Rochelle's seven elementary schools will be on display from May 4 through May 13, while the work of middle and high school students will be exhibited from May 19 through June 1. The exhibit is curated by Erica Bogin, an artist and art teacher.

A reception and awards ceremony for the elementary school students will be held on May 10, from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The reception and awards ceremony for the middle and high school students will take place on May 24, from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
