Park Free In Downtown New Rochelle All December

New Rochelle will continue the annual tradition of waiving parking in most municipal lots to make holiday shopping and entertaining easier.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — This is the time of year when the parking Grinch's heart grows three sizes and downtown shoppers find there is one less hassle to deal with.

Continuing an annual tradition intended to promote holiday shopping downtown, New Rochelle is once again offering two hours of free holiday parking in certain municipal lots every day in December from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Off-street parking fees will be waived at municipal surface lots controlled by muni-meters. This includes lots at City Hall, Lawn Avenue, the library, the library South lot, North Avenue at Thruway, Prospect Street and Union Avenue.

The New Roc City Garage, the Skyline Garage, and permit-only lots (including Davenport and Sickles) are not covered by the free parking largess.

Two hours of free parking on the fourth floor and the rooftop deck of the New Rochelle Transit Center Garage will be offered for shoppers at the 3rd Annual Holiday Market at the New Rochelle Train Station. Free parking at the transit center will only be offered during the hours when the holiday market is open, 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. on weekdays, and noon - 8 p.m. on weekends, through Dec. 17.
