RYE, NY — Rye police say they have stepped up their visibility at Rye schools after the district became the most recent in the region to be targeted with bomb threats.

Late last night, police were made aware of an email bomb threat made against Rye City School District buildings. Although officials did not believe the bomb warning was credible, they took the threat seriously. Working with the Westchester County Police Department Bomb Squad, Rye police searched all five district schools and the Central Administration Building overnight, and checked them thoroughly into the early morning.
